Independence Day

Happy Independence day
Americans, as it's today!
A day you used to greet with pride
now brings a feeling hard to hide
and slowly welling up inside.
It's a silent sort of shame
that your leader finds a way
to make it all about himself
just like he does with all things else.
But this "Salute to America"
is a Trumpster fire run amok!
I won't watch a single sec,
like many others too, I bet
will shun a thing they'd rather not
but this is now the view we've got:
A creamsickle on full display
to nearly everyone's dismay.
For me, he can't leave fast enough!
These last 3 years were pretty rough.
But after he's election lost
he won't concede!  And then the cost
of Mark Burnett's eternal shame
regives the world its present pain:
A mango Mussolini tweeting
incoherently repeating
phrases made of styrofoam
dull and dumb and unadorned
and showing all the planet wide
his paper skin and flaccid pride
devoid of any talent, skill
or virture, so his time is filled
with grade-school level insults made
as Twitter blinds an eye to rage:
it's anti-bully rules be damned,
if the bully rules the land.
He'll taint their brand inevitably
forever, in posterity.
So happy Independence day!
Americans, my friends, I say
Let's ensure we pave the way
to future Trumpless holidays!!
